Welcome Our New Summer Intern!

Grace! Our new intern

Hello! My name is Grace Kuebelbeck and I am proud to be Confluence

Counseling’s summer intern for 2026! I am an upcoming senior at the University of

Minnesota Twin Cities, anticipating graduating in the spring with my Bachelor of Arts

in Psychology with a minor in Family Social Sciences! On campus, I am a proud

member of the choir and the University YMCA, where I lead a team of students to

schools in the community to bring support and mentorship to the students there.

A little more about myself: I love taking bike rides around the Mississippi River

and am thoroughly enjoying this season of Love Island with my roommates and cat. I

absolutely adore plants and have a collection of twenty-five, with the number growing

after each visit to the farmer's market (with an iced latte from one of the other

vendors, of course). I grew up just north of the cities, about an hour out, and have

wanted to move here since I visited. The opportunities here are endless, and I’m

extremely grateful to be here.

This summer at Confluence, I aim to gain an in-depth understanding of the ins

and outs of a clinician's day-to-day work. I am interested in getting firsthand

information about the field: learning what it’s like to work in different environments

and modalities with all kinds of people. What are valuable skills, abilities, and personal

attributes that make a successful career? What did the path look like to get to where

they are now? Stay tuned and I’ll let you in on what I find :).

The helper profession is, no doubt, a selfless one, and one I want to pursue in

my professional career. The helper in me wants to start right away, start talking to

people in need and becoming a bright spot in their lives, guiding them to

self-sufficiency and happiness. Another part of myself knows I will need all the

perspective and guidance I can get to encourage my growth and confidence in my

abilities. That's just what I want to do here at Confluence Counseling, and with the help of the lovely people with equal passion for the job, I know I will meet my goal.

Throughout the summer, as a part of my internship, I will be making these little

blogs about my experience here as well as short blurbs about areas of interest in the

mental health field. Including modern mental health trends and strategies to navigate

them. To be clear, I will not be using people’s real names or personal details without

their express permission to respect their privacy and confidentiality. Wish me luck, I

can’t wait to get started!
