Licensed or License-Eligible Therapist
(W-2) - Hybrid
Confluence Counseling
St. Paul / Twin Cities, MN
Full-Time Opportunity

Autonomy, flexibility, and a team that actually supports you.

At Confluence Counseling, we believe humans do their best work when they have the freedom to practice authentically, the support to keep growing, and colleagues they can count on.

We’re a collaborative group practice, not a collection of clinicians working in silos, and not a workplace that expects everyone to be “family.” We treat each other like capable professionals, value flexibility and clinical excellence, and believe work should fit into your life rather than consume it.

If you want the independence of private practice without having to manage every aspect of running a business on your own, we’d like to meet you.

About the position

We’re seeking a licensed or license-eligible therapist to join our St. Paul team. This is a W-2 position with a gradual caseload-building phase and the opportunity to develop your clinical interests within a supportive, multidisciplinary practice.

A note about building your caseload: Most clinicians begin with a part-time caseload and build toward full-time (25 or more client sessions per week). Most of our clinicians reach a full-time caseload within approximately 2–4 months, depending on experience, specialization, referral sources, and availability. We provide website presence, marketing materials, and referral support, but clinicians should be prepared to take an active role in building their caseload or bring an existing client base with them. A full caseload is not guaranteed at the start.

Once you reach the 25-client-per-week threshold, you become eligible for health insurance, subject to plan requirements.

We take administrative tasks off your plate wherever possible. We handle insurance credentialing and billing, can assist with scheduling based on your preferences, provide marketing support, and supply your own office and computer.

Schedule and location

  • Hybrid position with at least 1–2 days per week in our St. Paul office.

  • This is not a fully remote position.

  • Availability for 1–2 evenings per week until 7:00 p.m. is required.

  • Daytime scheduling is otherwise flexible.

Compensation and benefits

  • 57/43 revenue split: Clinicians receive 57% of collected clinical revenue. We recognize that some larger groups offer a higher split; our model emphasizes the overall employment experience, administrative support, and flexibility.

  • W-2 employment: You are an employee, not an independent contractor.

  • Paid time off: Paid PTO, in addition to earned safe and sick leave.

  • Paid administrative hours: Compensation for eligible administrative work.

  • Supervision support: We cover the cost of supervision when it is not available in-house.

  • Continuing education: Financial support for select CEU opportunities.

  • Administrative support: Billing, insurance credentialing, marketing resources, and scheduling assistance as needed.

  • Your own workspace: An individual office and computer are provided.

  • Health insurance: Eligibility upon reaching 25 client sessions per week, subject to plan requirements.

Who would thrive here?

We’re looking for someone who is clinically thoughtful, dependable, collaborative, and comfortable taking initiative. You value autonomy but also recognize the importance of consultation, communication, and contributing to a healthy team environment.

You don't need to have everything figured out, but you should be willing to invest in developing your caseload, clinical skills, and professional relationships.

Experience or interest in one or more of the following is especially welcome:

  • Eating disorders and disordered eating

  • Children, adolescents, and young adults

  • Trauma-focused treatment modalities

  • Athletes, coaches, and performance psychology

  • Anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ affirmative care, neurodiversity, or other specialties that complement our existing team

We welcome clinicians with different backgrounds and areas of expertise. What matters is that your interests align with our practice and that you want to contribute to a collaborative clinical environment.

Why clinicians choose Confluence

Our clinicians value the flexibility to manage their schedules, the practical support that allows them to focus on clinical work, and the opportunity to consult and collaborate with colleagues. We aim to create an environment where people feel trusted, supported, and respected as professionals without unnecessary micromanagement or pressure to socialize beyond what feels natural.

We are a team that works together, shares knowledge, and supports one another while respecting individual autonomy.
